banquettes 2 - built-ins, settees, etc,
But where are the cushions? Ouch! Nice to have built-ins, but this doesn't really work for me. Can't we put them on wheels with a storage drawer underneath. Not sure I really want a permanently built-in banquette.
That table with the skinny legs on castors is dreamy. Love the art on the wall. Like the textiles, but would prefer a lighter (probably freestanding) banquette. Gorgeous space. Don't like the chairs for us. Go to www.citylivingdesign for the banquette and table.

Sofa/banquette with table is wonderful. Works great and is a simpler alternative to built-in, but still cozy.
Here's a close-up of the banquette and oval tulip table. See kitchen idea book for the rest of this space.
saved this picture because I liked the layout concept, idea of separating the eating area from the seating area.. But this banquette looks way too narrow and too upright to be comfortable. A freestanding upholstered banquette (with a back) would provide the same separation from the sitting area and be a lot cuter. I'm also not crazy about the colour of this wood - it's too tired, ashy gray - very blah.

Breakfast Room A Slim Aarons photograph surmounts the mantel in the breakfast room, where a table and chairs designed by Eero Saarinen for Knoll are grouped with a banquette upholstered in a Ralph Lauren Home plaid; the tufted ottoman is covered in a fabric by Jasper.
